Club Timer
Club Timer for Microsoft Teams

Time the meeting from inside Teams

Club Timer runs in the Microsoft Teams meeting side panel. Put the signal on the meeting stage, and everyone in the meeting sees green, yellow and red with the time, large enough to read from across the room.

Signal on the meeting stage

One large signal the whole meeting can see

The Timer runs Club Timer in the side panel. In the Share sheet, Show on the meeting stage puts a live signal and clock in the middle of everyone's meeting window.

  • Everyone sees the same signal. The stage turns green, yellow and red with the speaker's time, and follows the timer as you start, pause and move to the next speaker.
  • Nobody needs to join. Each person's Teams loads the stage itself, so members don't have to open Club Timer or sign in.
  • Members can follow on their phones with the meeting QR code, and a co-host can help run the timer, the same as in the room.
  • Who can share. Teams shows the stage button only to people it allows to share, usually the organizer and presenters.

Add Club Timer to Teams

  1. Open a scheduled Teams meeting, or its chat, and select + (Add a tab) or Apps.
  2. Search for Club Timer, select it, then Save. Club Timer is added to that meeting.
  3. If your organization manages Teams apps, an admin may need to allow Club Timer first.

Use it in a meeting

  1. In the meeting, select Club Timer in the meeting toolbar. It opens in the side panel.
  2. Import the agenda or add speakers, the same way as in the app on your phone. See Features for the details.
  3. Select Share, then Show on the meeting stage. The signal and clock appear for everyone.
  4. Start, pause and move to the next speaker in the side panel as usual. The stage follows the timer.

Show on the meeting stage works in the Teams desktop and web apps. On Teams mobile the side panel works, but Teams doesn't offer the stage button. Live speech analysis isn't available inside Teams, because Teams keeps the microphone for the meeting.

Remove the app

  1. To remove it from one meeting, right-click the Club Timer tab in the meeting chat and select Remove.
  2. To remove it from Teams, select Apps, then Manage your apps, find Club Timer and select Remove.

Privacy

Club Timer needs no account and doesn't read your Teams messages, files or contacts. The stage uses the same live-sharing link as members' phones: it shows the meeting's agenda and timer, and the shared meeting is deleted when the Timer stops sharing, or 24 hours after the last update. The privacy policy has the full details.
